Healings Soils Foundation is excited to announce that is has reached a long term agreement to lease a historic farmhouse as its headquarters at Rock Creek Farms in Will Counfy, Illinois. Rock Creek Farms is a 300+ acre transitional organic and regenerative agriculture development about 45 miles south of Chicago. The farm is owned by Iroquois Valley Farmland REIT, PBC that is integrating scalable alternatives to conventional rowcrop agriculture. Recently the company planted 10,000 trees as a protective windbreak in conjunction with NRCS and non profit Savanna Institute.
The farmhouse has been vacant for many years but it’s renovation with historic landmark status will be appropriately symbolic of the regenerative mission of HSF. Restoring life to a dead asset is what we do. In this case, the farmhouse is a fixture of the community and may garner nation attention during the rehabilitation process. Certainly it will help bring attention too to our new non profit.
